Memories ... the only thing left behind

Memories
Like the corners of my mind.
Misty water-colored memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures,
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were
Can it be that it was all so simple then ?
Or has time re-written every line ?
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me, would we ? could we ?
Memories,
May be beautiful and yet
What’s too painful to remember
We simply choose to forgot
So it’s the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember
The way we were
The way we were

Thank you for reading my blog. :)
I'm glad you liked the poem. It is an honour that you ask to post my poem on yours but with that poem in particular I must refuse. It is a personal one, based on real events. But, you may take any other of my poems and put them here, with a link back, naturally.
I'll be back to read some of your posts on here. :) Thanks again for the visit.
